ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Operate a 100T /150T (777 and 785) haul truck in a mining environment;
Conduct pre-operation checks and fill out required paper work before and after shifts;
Follow the Dispatcher’s instructions using the Wenco System;
Deliver loads to the proper waste dumps and ore stock piles;
Report to the Mine Production Supervisor pertaining to any deficiencies or safety concerns.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience operating haul trucks in a mining environment;
Experience with a dispatch system is an asset (Wenco, Mine Star);
Possess strong work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region; Montreal and Val-Dor.
