Reporting to the Plant Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all activities for the site’s end to end maintenance requirements. The Maintenance Manager controls and allocates the appropriate financial, human and technical resources as required by the site. More specifically, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the following:
Setting and executing the Annual Maintenance budget;
Developing and maintaining the site 5-year master plan in collaboration with corporate Engineering,
Improving upon the current Preventative Maintenance program to include initiatives such as CBM etc.;
Monitoring of key performance indicators (costs, labour, preventive maintenance completion, work order completion, workplace inspections, energy consumption, effluent, etc.);
Providing the site teams and maintenance staff with technical support to resolve equipment related problems;
Leading and motivating a team through pro-active communications, employee involvement and participation, individual feedback and appraisal; application of policies and sound employee relations practices;
Application of site Daily Management System and Lean Manufacturing Tools.
Support all Corporate, Plant, Safety & Quality programs and Policies.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering;
5 to 10 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility, including managing a maintenance team;
Trade certification in industrial mechanic or industrial electrician and relevant management experience can also be considered;
Proven record of leadership, communication, and organizational skills;
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performance work teams;
Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing Methodologies experience a plus;
Knowledge of the food sector would be considered an asset.
