Millar Western’s Fox Creek Wood Products Division is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the individual will be responsible for direction of day-to-day maintenance activities and ongoing development and implementation of our preventative maintenance program. He or she will be required to support and work well with all maintenance personnel and other departments to maximize machine up-time and meet operational priorities. Responsibilities will include:

  • shift scheduling
  • ensuring work orders are completed and accurate information recorded
  • interacting with outside vendors and sales staff, and
  • reporting pertinent information to support effective business management.

The ideal candidate will be a Red Seal Millwright or possess a technical diploma in a maintenance-related field, and have a strong maintenance/planning background and proven decision-making ability. As well as technical knowledge, he or she will exhibit the excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively delegate tasks and to direct, support and motivate others in a team environment. Prior experience in lumber or other industrial manufacturing is required. Experience with SAP and computerized maintenance systems would be an asset.
