Position Summary:

  • Responsible for being the technical lead with regards to manufacturing within their assigned area(s)


  • Provide technical skill in manufacturing areas to plan, design, set up, modify, optimize and monitor manufacturing processes
  • Involvement in the quoting process when required to discuss process parameters for the assigned area(s)
  • Participate in meetings and provide input to the Quality and Launch team for the creation of PFMEA and other associated documentation
  • Track all improvements and O.E.E. Gains
  • Design, quote, detail, justify and source all jigs and fixture components required to process parts within assigned area(s)
  • Creates, develops and implements process and procedures to help the company meet required goals and objectives
  • Be involved and document prototype / test runs to ensure required steps are taken to ensure parts are made right the first time
  • Document and maintain work instructions and standard operating procedures to include time studies
  • Improve the O.E.E. of the manufacturing process by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
  • Be involved in all internal and external corrective action meetings with regards to assigned area(s)
  • Recommend new or alternate technology to achieve optimum quality and equipment efficiency
  • Ensure compliance to the ISO or other specifications as deemed necessary by Kromet
  • Comply with all safety regulations
  • Help determine routings and bill of materials as associated with sequencing
  • Maintain and document all SRED activities
  • Other activities as required


  • Diploma or certification in manufacturing engineering or in a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently when reviewing production processes
  • 3-5 years of work experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or equiv.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
  • Above average Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of aluminum extrusion is an asset
  • Metallurgical training / experience an asset
