Exchangenergy is a growing, locally owned business in Duncan, BC. Our service area is from Ladysmith to Mill Bay, as well as Salt Spring Island. We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to add to our team that serves our residential new construction and renovation customers. The ideal candidate has prior experience with residential sheet metal installation and will be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will have a background in sheet metal work, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team, while also maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Applicant must be comfortable with new installations, retrofits, modifications and repairs on a variety of size scales.
Job duties, including but not limited to:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Completing high-quality jobs on-time and on-budget.
- Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products
- Determined project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or material, using blue prints, drawings, or written or verbal instruction
- Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports
- Communicate with customers and contractors about their needs
- Drive and maintain an Exchangenergy provided vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Team player but comfortable working independently
- Ability to problem solve in a dynamic work environment
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow continuously
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Reliable and punctual
- Own hand tools and power tools
