Under the direction of Assistant Dean, and as part of the recruitment team, the Coordinator participates in and supports recruitment and conversion activities including communications activities and materials across a variety of formats. participates in recruiting, conversion and advising activities and events. The incumbent will continue engaging with students throughout the student life cycle through to matriculation and beyond and will present a positive image of the Faculty of Science.
University degree in a related field such as Communications, Marketing, Hospitality/Client Service or equivalent such as completion of the equivalent College Diploma plus one year practical experience in student advising and recruitment or project management, in addition to the required minimum number of years of relevant work experience listed below.
Minimum two years' experience including marketing communications. presentation skills. client service. project management. interpreting and communicating complex information. and conducting engaging presentations.
Advanced skills in the use of digital, design, promotional, and web tools. Demonstrated use of social media for organizational purposes. Demonstrated and thorough knowledge at intermediate level of Adobe Creative Suite Products including InDesign with specific experience in delivering effective graphic design materials. Extremely effective communications skills such as writing ability, public speaking, and presentation skills: effective oral communication skills to elicit, interpret and summarize information. data input, collection and reporting. Demonstrated effective and positive interpersonal skills. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and discretion when dealing with others. Knowledge of academic programs and associated admission requirements, recognition of and respect for diversity and individual differences. Demonstrated experience in maintaining confidentiality. demonstrated good attendance and punctuality. excellent attention and accuracy to detail. exercising good judgment in analyzing and evaluating situations/circumstances and solving problems. Time management skills. Working independently to identify and accomplish key objectives within an environment of high volume and constant interruptions. Exercising initiative and working effectively as a team member to achieve and support unit/organizational goals. Making decisions with others and supporting the outcomes. Competence with on-line computerized records and data systems.
Willingness to travel. Must possess a permanent and valid provincial driver's G license and have access to a reliable vehicle for business use.
