In this role, you will:
Business Continuity
Maintain Business Continuity Plans and appendices for Halifax offices
Design, participate in and/or facilitate Business Continuity Plan exercises
Liaise with public First Responders to keep abreast of changing response methods
Update the Business Impact Assessment, Risk Register, and Business Continuity Plan Strategy document
Information Assurance
Maintain Information Assurance Maturity Model documentation including evidence binder information
Assist information asset owners with their departmental activities and for ensuring positive record of access by users (i.e. joiners, movers, leavers)
Host external agencies performing security audits and inspections (corporate or government)
Implement recommendations from internal information assurance health checks
Perform building sweeps for unattended critical information assets
Security Management
Complete outbound visit clearance requests for the industrial security program
Ensure the completion of inbound visit clearance request for visitors accessing Controlled Goods
Perform security assessments for new hires commencing employment
Ensure the positive maintenance of facility keys for critical information assets, office doors, secure rooms, and security locking containers
Enter, modify and delete alarm user codes into the facility alarm system for facility staff
Program access cards into various areas of the buildings for facility staff
Assist with the development of security policies, procedures or security management plans
Assist the Security Manager with performing threat risk assessments (Physical Security and/or Critical Information Asset Protection
Assist with the proper maintenance of the security and information Assurance website
Perform annual security refresher training and briefings to employees
Provide safety and security information to company business travellers
Ensure all physical security systems is in good operational state
Assist with security related investigations
Promote all security programs to employees
Advising on security requirements pertaining to Halifax based requests for proposals
Other duties as required
As our ideal candidate,
Post- Secondary Education in Business Administration, Project Management, or Security Management from an accredited post-secondary educational agency
3+ years of experience working within the Industrial Security Program and the Controlled Goods Program
3+ years of experience working within a Corporate Security Program
Intermediate experience writing security and/or emergency incident reports
Working knowledge of physical security systems (card access, CCTV and alarm systems), establishing or maintaining business continuity programs, and principles for information & cyber security
Basic knowledge of emergency management, conducting security related investigations, and conducting business continuity program exercises
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Some Project Management experience and/or qualifications an asset
Eligible for a Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance, ITAR and Controlled Goods
