The Display Controller team within the Radeon Technologies Group(RTG) is looking for an entry level to intermediate Pre-Silicon Technical Program Manager to drive IP/SOC development interlock.
As a Pre-Silicon Technical Program Manager you would be working intimately with the Display Controller IP team Management, Architects and Technical leads, based in the Markham office, to interlock deliveries to SOC programs which are executed across the globe.
The Display IP team has pioneered a culture of continuous improvement within AMD and you will have multiple opportunities to add your input to shape the current and future IP AND SOC development around Display technologies. As a day-to-day point person, you will be able to exercise your pre-silicon development knowledge to influence the delivery quality, milestones and technical processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Min. Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
2+ years of proven program management experience or equivalent leadership experience
5+ years of proven design and/or verification experience on large ASIC development projects
Strong understanding of the pre-silicon design and verification cycle
Working knowledge of RTL Design and Verification flows
Proven ability to quickly absorb new architecture, technical concepts & delivery methods to identify potential development hurdles
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and communication skills
Must be a self-starter and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
Formal training in program management practices is an asset
Display and/or video processing, low power development, high speed digital interface background is an asset.
Work with Management and Technical leads to interlock IP/SOC development schedules & define IP quality metrics
Proactively manage project milestones and timelines on a day-to-day basis
Capture and track inter-team dependencies & hand-offs
Identify risks and propose solutions to achieve committed program goals
Develop and/or refine processes to track quality
Conduct efficient and effective technical status reviews – keeping issues concise and on point
Communicate progress effectively to all relevant stakeholders
Organize and/or create appropriate program documentation and communications
Conduct program post-mortem reviews to continuously assess & improve process & tools
