The Conference Services Manager markets catering services, food and beverage, banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize profits from food & beverage revenues and meeting room rental. Maintains ongoing relationships with hotel clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishes client base of organizations, associations, social and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce additional business.
  • Negotiates food and beverage prices, meeting room rental, function space, room rates and hotel services. Confirms in writing to the client and affected departments all requirements via Catering Sales contract or Event Order.
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities and exposes clients to facilities and services; entertains qualified potential clients.
  • Assists the client in menu planning; coordinates food, beverage, meeting room set-up, decorations and other services as requested by the client; assures that all requirements are communicated and completed to the clients specifications.
  • Ensures great attention to detail by ensuring all information is cross referenced between the catering bible and function contracts.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Has a clear understanding of the competition, conducting tours quarterly and keeps an up to date information binder on all catering competition.
  • Attends major functions that Catering department has coordinated as the point person for convener.
  • Follow company’s policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
  • Limited travel may be required
