The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Organizational Performance provides management oversight and leadership that facilitates success in organizational excellence. The Director’s primary responsibilities are to develop, measure and report on key performance indicators, facilitate the completion of Council’s priorities, and assist corporate departments in improving their business processes.

Specific accountabilities include:
Responsibility to oversee Brampton 2040 as a living strategy and ensuring corporate alignment.
Support, monitor and report on the Term of Council Priorities.
Develop, measure and report on key performance indicators. Participate with Municipal Benchmarking Network Canada and other municipal comparators.
In partnership with City departments and divisions, provide business improvement functions. This include analyzing business processes, recommending best management practices, and offering educational quality improvement programs
Build multi-discipline teams into a strategic operation that provides outcome-based, effective and efficient project management to the corporation.

Candidates for the role of Director of Organizational Performance and Strategy will be university educated and have proven ability to engage and sustain effective relationships with Council, staff, public, in addition to, internal and external stakeholders. Candidates will have comprehensive experience working with a Council and senior management leadership. Preferred candidates have comprehensive knowledge of the municipal operational processes, strategic planning and performance measurement.

Further, candidates have a proven record of accomplishment as a strategic leader and facilitator of change, with a customer service focus in public, private or not for profit sectors. Candidates will have strong business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and passion for public service. Experience in the private sector is considered added value.
