Nextleaf Solutions Ltd. ("OILS") has developed disruptive intellectual property for the extraction and purification of cannabinoids. OILS commercializes its IP portfolio through IP licensing, and supplying THC and CBD oils through Nextleaf Labs Ltd., a Health Canada licensed processor. The Company owns a portfolio of over 35 issued patents pertaining to industrial-scale production of THC and CBD oils, the key ingredients used in the manufacturing of standardized cannabinoid based products.
What You Will Do:
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for ensuring the sanitation and cleanliness of all facility areas.
o Ensure the facility remains sterile, safe and optimized for production according to Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory requirements
o Perform regular inspections to ensure production equipment is clean prior to being used; report any issues or concerns to the Production Manager
o Follow the daily sanitation checklist and document all tasks, completed and incomplete
o Manage waste according to compliance standards and SOPs
o Assist in the facilitation of projects and tasks within the production facility under the direction of the Production Manager
o Conduct work activities in a safe manner in accordance with all safety, GMP, and Health Canada guidelines
o Assist the Production Manager with any necessary training of team members on appropriate use of sanitation equipment, chemicals and SOPs
o Work independently performing duties throughout the shift reporting to the Production Manager as needed or requested
o Be a role model that showcases Nextleaf’s culture both internally and externally, and
o Perform other related duties as required
Requirements for this role:
o High School diploma or equivalent
o 1-2 years’ experience in a custodial/sanitation role, preferably in a highly regulated industry
o WHMIS training/certification preferred
o Familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols is an asset
o Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes/procedures
o Industry knowledge is an asset
o Valid security clearance is an asset
o Comfortable using a computer and programs such as Microsoft Office
o The majority of time will be spent in the production area with the ability to;
o lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, and stand for extended periods of time
o wear/use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time (i.e. Gloves, coveralls, lab coat, hairnet, beard net, safety glasses, respirator)
o work in an enclosed and secure work area
o Must consent to a Criminal Background Check
o Ability to work weekends, holidays, and up to 12-hour shifts
Individuals with allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever may not be comfortable in this environment as there is significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials.
