Wage: $29,868 / annum
Anticipated Shift: Monday through Friday starting at 1:30 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. with a half hour unpaid break for a total of 35 hrs / wkly

A Program Facilitator is responsible for providing front-line supervision and support to children, youth, staff and volunteers. Program Facilitators plan, organize, deliver and supervise recreation programs for children and youth. Program Facilitators also assist the Club Manager in managing the club, staff and volunteers. Program Facilitators assume greater responsibilities than Activity Workers in developing and coordinating club activities and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Facilitators’ responsibilities include but are not limited to: nurturing positive relationships an
d positive communications, planning and delivering programs, maintaining program records, money management, managing volunteers / hours, promoting safety and dealing with incidents and sensitive issues.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree in education or a related field.
- Effective interpersonal communication and listening skills.
- Experience working with children ranging from 6-18 years of age
- Demonstrated initiative and skills in planning.
- Knowledge and understanding of youth development, experiential learning, lesson planning, and literacy development.
- Experience working in cross-cultural settings and sensitive to diverse cultures.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
- Must have and maintain a Full Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License with a clear Driver’s Abstract
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
***Be able to provide clear criminal record and child abuse registry checks obtained within the past 6 months***
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current and valid Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
- Current and valid Manitoba Class 4 Driver’s License (or acquire one 3 months within their hiring date)
- Current and valid NVCI Certification (or willing to acquire within 3 months)
