About the role

We are looking for a Planner to ensure that all weekly maintenance activities are planned and scheduled in a manner that maximizes the efficiency of the assigned maintenance crew(s), and maintains the reliability of the operational assets. This is a critical role which enables safe production through the effective implementation of the Work Management process which supports a zero-harm safety culture, improves employee productivity, and is essential for asset reliability.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be:
Ensuring safety needs are given a top priority in work planning
Ensure critical risks are identified in the planning process and appropriate controls are in place so the work can be performed safely and effectively.
Working closing with the Planning an Execution team to improve the productivity of people, equipment and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution.
Identifying and validate notifications and work requests to consolidate all known maintenance requirements.
Preparing for maintenance activities, and in doing so ensuring that all resources are planned, scheduled and allocated for execution.
Planning to ensure maintenance work task execution can be performed safely, efficiently and effectively.
Scheduling maintenance activities to optimize cost and efficiency.
Undertaking all post work execution tasks and maintenance administration to support ongoing maintenance activities.
Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for maintenance and parts management.
Collecting and collating work management data for review.
About you

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Technical Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Strong mechanical background.
Minimum of 5 years of prior industrial maintenance experience in a similar industrial – mineral processing or related setting
Demonstrated in depth planning and scheduling knowledge using a CMMS system – SAP preferred.
Strong leadership skills.
Good communication skill (written and verbal).
Good understanding and application of the Rio Tinto Asset Management Strategy or equivalent.
Strong Time management skills.
Good knowledge of MS Office applications - MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Project
Uncompromising commitment to working safely and intelligently.
Good knowledge of IOC’s safety standards or Rio Tinto safety standards or equivalent world-class safety standards.
It would also be beneficial if you have experience and knowledge of the following:

Fixed plant experience – example: conveyors, pumps, autogenous mills, ball mills, horizontal filter pans, apron and reciprocating feeders , etc
