Job Title: IT Programmer Analyst

Job Overview

The successful incumbent will be responsible for developing and supporting software applications including analysis, design, coding, system testing and implementation. This role will also provide effective and responsive operational support/services for Kingston Midstream’s multiple business applications (particularly Kingston Midstream’s Oil Movement Management suite of applications).

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain Kingston Midstream’s custom Oil Movement Manager applications. Maintain all custom applications, data interfaces, and reporting built on the Microsoft framework/platform
  • Maintenance activities for application server environments (pre-production & production)
  • Creation of technical requirements, system/application architecture and application design
  • Develop and test enhancements (coding, database, user interface)
  • Create advanced technical solutions using Microsoft Azure Cloud Development platform technology
  • Assist in creating and formalizing Kingston Midstream’s software development life cycle/methodology, architectural design & development framework, and in-house coding standards by leveraging industry best practices.
  • Responsible for, and participate in, all aspects of the system development life cycle
  • Assist broader support team in problem analysis and issue resolution
  • Create detailed documentation for SDLC processes, technical architecture, and technical support for new/existing applications (logical and physical diagrams)
  • Provide mentorship and training to other team members
  • Ensure proper backup and disaster recovery protocols are in place and followed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related IT discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience as a Programmer Analyst/Developer
  • Experience in a corporate oil & gas or midstream business environment would be asset
  • Strong technical analysis skills, verbal/written communications skills, interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and client relationship skills are requirements for this position
  • Certification in .net (C#) is required
  • SQL Server Certification is required
  • Certification in Java and TomCat is required
  • Experience in developing MVC applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure virtual environments, Microsoft’s Entity Framework, Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Integration Services is required
  • Oracle DBA Certification would be an asset
  • Midstream Pipeline business domain experience with oil movement and ticketing systems knowledge
  • Comfortable working in a high performing, team-oriented, dynamic and evolving IT team environment
  • This role will require periodic travel to our field offices as required
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship
