We are Canada’s development bank. We exist to support entrepreneurs. BDC’s mission is to help create and develop Canadian businesses through financing, growth and business transition capital, venture capital and advisory services, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. As a complementary lender, we offer loans and investments that fill out or complete services available from other financial institutions.

No other bank is doing what we do.

At BDC, we’re devoted to Canadian entrepreneurs. We’re also dedicated to our employees. Adaptable. Inspiring. Different. There’s a reason we like to work here and we think you’ll like it too.

Every year, BDC offers summer internships to college and university students. The program aims to provide job experience in an exceptional work environment.

WHY INTERN AT BDC?

1. Because you will be asked to work with experienced colleagues and managers who, like you, care about Canadian entrepreneurs.

2. Because a summer job at BDC could be the beginning of a productive career. Indeed, many students hired throughout Canada find further employment at the Bank.

3. Because your ideas and perspectives will help BDC target its efforts to better support Canadian entrepreneurs.

4. Because you will have the opportunity to join the first Canadian financial institution to receive B Corp certification. B Corp-certified companies are recognized for creating more economic development opportunities, strengthening local communities and preserving the environment.

You will work in one of our business centres and support the team in order to provide timely, value-added financial and consulting services to BDC clients. In addition, you will actively participate in local marketing initiatives.
