Gateway Community Health Centre (GCHC), located in Tweed, is a not-for-profit organization offering a range of comprehensive primary health care and health promotion programs through an interprofessional care team. In keeping with the CHC Model of Health & Wellbeing, and our Mission, Vision, and Values, GCHC supports populations at all ages and stages of life with an emphasis on those who are at-risk and/or experiencing barriers to accessing services.

We are in search of an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization through a significant period of health system change with clarity and vision, and promote an adaptive environment by fostering creativity, innovation, collaboration, and trust. The successful candidate will be expected to commence work June 1, 2020.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business, Public Administration or equivalent
  • A degree/diploma in a clinical service/discipline and/or experience working within a health care environment with practitioners is highly desirable
  • Work experience as follows:
  • At least five years in a senior management level position(s). Experience within a primary health care setting (health/social services) an asset
  • Organizational leadership, decentralized accountability, coaching and mentoring for success
  • Working with a policy governance board
  • Aligning operational goals with strategic priorities and patient care delivery systems
  • Applying health care analytics and informatics to support strategic initiatives
  • Working with people from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Recognized excellence in the following areas –
  • Strategic results management
  • Political and environmental scanning
  • Systems thinking and action
  • Resource management, human and financial
  • Client / community engagement and public relations
  • Demonstrated abilities in effective communications (verbal & written), critical thinking, interpersonal skills, time management, and organizational skills
  • Possesses a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability

Conditions of employment will include a satisfactory police record check and a commitment to minimum 5 years’ service.
