We are a new independent bakery on Commercial Drive specializing in naturally leavened sourdough breads and French-style pastries. We bake everything onsite from scratch. We take pride in the products we produce and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, organized, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as part of the management team. The ideal candidate has a passion for baked goods and a detail-oriented attitude. The success of this position is measured by the person’s ability to control cost while producing high quality baked goods that meets our standard of consistency and quality.
Extensive experience baking in a professional setting is necessary for this position as well as experience in a management position. You will be expected to bake and troubleshoot: naturally leavened breads, laminated doughs, enhanced doughs, cakes and cookies.
The Kitchen Manager position also entails preparing schedules, managing inventory and ordering duties and the overall running of the kitchen side of operations including hiring and training bakers and support staff. Experience in these aspects of management is required.
The ideal candidate will be available to work 5 days a week including some weekends, between the hours of 5am and 8pm (8 hour shifts) with flexibility to work outside of these hours occasionally. We are a rapidly growing small business, with the position offering opportunities to grow with a relatively new business from the ground up.
