Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the EPLS Project Manager provides formal Project Management direction and oversight pertaining to all technical and engineering decisions, pertaining to all EPLS business contracts and related process initiatives. The Project Manager is key member ofthe Executive Team and is regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for technical expertise, leadership, advice, support and ensuring applicable industry compliance, resulting in EPLS business initiatives are successful.

The Project Manager is responsible for all engineering and technical aspects of all assigned EPLS business initiatives, processes and assignments. These include but not limited to: new and existing EPLS business contracts, liaison with key stakeholders to provide an engineering presence, assisting with the creating and implementation of SOP’s, Lean initiatives, Policy Development, ISO conformance standards, Work Instructions, Physical Processes, and engineering documentation and retention.

The Project Manager is responsible for exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism while building relationships and working closely with key roles throughout all levels of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define the technical development requirements for all EPLS business contracts, such as staffing and formal training requirements, On-The-Job training requirements
  • Provide recommendations to the COO for required engineering approvals
  • Autonomous decision making is approved in the absence of the COO
  • Troubleshoot design and manufacturing problems related to blueprint design
  • Provide SME support for EPLS business initiatives to support quotation of new contracts
  • Assist/participate in the procurement of new capital equipment
  • Responsible for staying abreast of the latest industry developments
  • Makes recommendations to COO for acquisition of new technology (equipment, software) that will improve the efficiency, reduce costs, for EPLS processes
  • Proficient planning, estimating, budgeting, and cost control so that projects can be completed within the approved budget and project plan scope.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • P.Eng. certification with Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Preferred P.Eng. certifications are: Project Management, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in construction/engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years experience scheduling
  • Minimum 3 years experience supervising
  • Minimum 2 years cost management experience
  • Current member of Manitoba/Nunavut Provincial/Territory Regulator as an Engineer
  • Ability to obtain a Manitoba or Nunavut license, if the current license is registered from another province or territory engineering regulatory association
  • Proven history of experience in design and construction project management, cost management, estimating, planning, scheduling and progress measurement
  • Customer service focused, with a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & requirements
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving and outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced software platforms
  • Must be able to work in a team and independent work environment
  • Ability to travel on short notice and extended duration is required

Start Date: Immediately

Employment Status: Permanent; Full-Time

Starting Salary: $120,000.00 per year (Dependent on Qualifications)

Working Hours: Your work schedule will be variable based on the operational needs of EPLS. You may be required to work extended hours based on business and/or customer needs thus time flexibility will be essential in this role.
