Located at dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre and working with the IT department, you will be responsible for:
Delivery of managed LAN, WAN, Firewalls, wireless LAN, datacentre, load balancer & WAN optimization
Provide troubleshooting and configuration management of networked equipment. Identify and analyze the root cause of performance breakdowns and recommend solutions.
Capacity & performance management, network trouble analysis & repair and network upgrades & enhancements
Produce necessary documentation for the managed network environment. This may include network diagrams, method procedures, business case development, statement of work, transition plan, project plan, etc.
Develop/Maintain Disaster recovery process and testing and Data Security.
Manage and support internal IT help desk staff with network and server issues and respond to escalated issues.
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
Track and monitor problem resolution of all helpdesk staff. Review for reoccurring issues and provide long term resolutions.
Manage software licenses and hardware serial numbers.
Administration and support of all Servers and Applications.
Provide training to helpdesk staff and assist with user training.
Ensure system availability and performance efficiency.
Knowledge of SOX and PCI compliances is an asset
Understand ERP environments and workflow
Managed IT procurement and maintain relationships with external vendors
Workstation Hardware & Software Maintenance:
Perform new hardware/software installation and upgrade.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues
Maintain Operating systems/MS Office/Symantec Anti-Virus/ Adobe/ Citrix etc.
Perform installation, configuration and upgrade of software applications.
Provide daily server and network support
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner
Maintain/Support Remote access for employees and agents
Shared File management (Shared drives) user administration.
Office Equipment Maintenance:
Provide support for iOS and Android smart phones and Tablets.
VOIP phones, voice mail & password setups & retrievals
Office Wi-Fi maintenance
Procurements: laptops, software, TVs, Thin Clients, supplies
Manage contracts and leases for hardware and software licenses.
Building security oversight: FOB key setups and reprogramming
Ensure servers are at optimal performance level
New server installations and administration
Active Directory Maintenance Win 2008/2012
Strong knowledge of Windows 2008R2-2016 Servers
Knowledge in SQL server 2008 and newer
Symatec Cloud anti-Virus
Arkadin, Zoom conferencing, Webex
Software and hardware upgrades
Knowledgeable of virtualization, specifically VMware Familiar with ERP and Oracle application an asset
Server and Desktop Patch Management
Office 365 and SharePoint
Virtualization, specifically VMware
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Network authentication & Security (ACE, IPSec, Key Management, RADIUS, TACACS+)
Palo Alto firewalls
VPN technology (IPSec, Key Management, Client, Site-to-site, & remote access solutions)
Monitoring of the network using industry recognized monitoring tools (SNMP)
Fortinet firewalls experience an asset.
Wireless administration and security
Networked & Cloud-based POS knowledge an asset
Network segmentation and VLANs
Mobile device management (Meraki and Airwatch)
Provide tier 2 and 3 support for Backup Issues and Monitoring
Ensure backup servers are running optimally and tests are done
Understand cloud or remote Backups technology
Ensure Vendors Meet SLAs
Purchase Requisition (PR) generations
Software subscription renewals
Manage remote third-party technicians
What we’re looking for
5+ years of IT server/network support experience aligned with the abovementioned duties
IT University Degree or College Diploma
Either MCSA, MCSE, CCNA or Security+ is highly desirable
Proven track record of delivering results and committed to operational and service excellence
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and technical documentation
Ability to be clearly understood and able to provide support to users at their level.
Strong English language skills (French is an asset)
