Duties and responsibilities
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business / functional requirements and translate them into testing requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders in a collaborative environment
Experienced in testing large scale web projects
Able to maintain and modify test environment and configuration to meet test cases or problem recreation requirements
Able to plan, design or carry out a task from start to finish using defined test methodologies with minimal supervision
Be creative and innovative in exploring possible solutions
Must take accountability for outcomes and personal contribution to team’s success
Always concerned about quality
Deal with people, problems and situations with honesty, integrity and personal ethics
Must have a can-do attitude
Qualifications & Experience
Degree of diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
Minimum of 5+ years of complex web based applications, integration and back-end testing experience
Working knowledge of internet/web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML, JSP, JavaScript, CSS
Industry experience in SQL and Relational Database, working knowledge in at least one major RDBMS vendor (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, MySQL)
Knowledge of various testing techniques, approaches and best practices
Experience with project management tools such as Jira
Good knowledge of automation tools and familiarity with scripting language
Experienced and skilled in all aspects of the testing effort including test design, test execution, and test evaluation
Experience with healthcare or insurance industry is an asset
Experience with onsite-offshore project teams is an asset
QA certification is an asset
