Bureau Veritas is looking for a

Senior Laboratory Analyst - Organics

Numerous Instrument analysis positions are open on the following instrument types: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, GC-MS-FID, GC-FID, GC-ECD, FTIR, Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence, LECO, and automated chemistry by colorimetric analysis.

As a Senior Analyst - Organics, your responsibilities are:
Aid in the development of new methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and general work instructions
Review and interpret data, highlights errors and/or requests reworks
Troubleshoot methods based on non-conformance and implements production efficiencies
Perform more complex sample preparation and analyses, including method and/or data validation while adhering to quality and turnaround time (TAT) specifications
Coordinate laboratory projects and prioritize daily workload to accommodate daily rushes and specialty analysis as needed
Assume a leading role in the planning, implementation and maintenance of any procedural or equipment validation
Identify, communicate and address non-conformance
Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and assess new instruments
Assume a leading role in providing technical expertise, troubleshooting, training and mentoring for staff
Recommend solutions which will make the lab more effective and competitive
Other duties as assigned

You are an ideal Senior Analyst - Organics if you have:
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry or environmental related and/or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment
Previous team lead experience would be an asset
Excellent up to date knowledge of laboratory processes and automation
Proficient in the use of various lab instruments and analytical techniques such as: colorimetric, IC, PCT, ICP, PCT, BOD
Microbiology testing experience is an asset
A positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good time-management, communication and multi-tasking skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to work overtime and on weekends as required by the business
Must be flexible to work different types of rotating shifts. Day shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), afternoon shifts (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.), including weekends
