We are looking to grow our team of brokers in the St. Thomas community. We have been in this business since 1954 so we like to think we are doing some things right but we also know that we need to continue to grow and evolve as our customers’ expectations grow too!

We love that we get to know and understand our customers so we can advise them on the best insurance solutions so that what they care about most is protected and they can worry about things other than their insurance.

Our brokers are very much a part of the St. Thomas community. They love it when they see their customers in the grocery store or out at the local arenas or sports fields and know that they have helped them with their insurance needs … it’s what they love most about what they do.

Your success will depend a lot on you – your product knowledge, your ongoing commitment to find the optimal coverage solution, and building positive, lasting relationships with current customers and those who don’t know they are McConville Omni customers yet!

This role will be responsible for generating new sales revenue for the organization to contribute the overall growth strategy.

So, What Will You Spend Your Days Doing?

  • Follow up on leads in a timely manner using the appropriate sales tools.
  • Achievement of key sales goals/targets.
  • Track and document the appropriate actions, next steps, client information to provide full transparency throughout the sales cycle to facilitate reporting and decision making.
  • Take on the overflow of leads/referrals from the Customer Service Brokers.
  • Source/prospect additional new business leads.
  • With a focus on quality, conduct a thorough risk assessment and provide recommendations for coverage based on clients needs.
  • Provide complete and accurate quotes using the appropriate quoting system.
  • Complete personal lines policy applications which includes obtaining the necessary reports, documentation and required signatures.
  • Ensure that the type of new business aligns with the company’s business strategy and carrier risk appetite.
  • Be a company brand ambassador at every point of customer contact.

  • Must be RIBO licenced with your licence in good standing at all times.
  • 1 year experience in Personal Lines sales and servicing.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Is able to demonstrate reflective listening and empathy.
  • Sales oriented professional.
  • Experience with broker management systems – TAM is an asset.
  • Able to handle multiple competing priorities and remain professional.
  • Must be able to keep up to minimal sales targets for the role.
