Job Summary

Reporting to the Shop Foreman the incumbent will be responsible for various repairs to a variety of B class vehicles. We are looking for a strong technician who has the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles, enforce proactive preventative maintenance and perform audits as required. This full time position will be located in Timmins, Ontario, for our Leuschen Transportation brand.

Qualifications/Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid Class 310T licenseo 310S license would be a definite asset or be willing to attain a Class 310T license thru an approved apprenticeship program.
  • Prior Fleet maintenance experience on heavy vehicles is an asset. * Occasional moderate to heavy lifting is a requirement.
  • Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month.
  • Perform service calls and cold starts as required.
  • Ensure adherence to STC safety policies
  • Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed.

  • Attend any educational seminars or training as suggested by management.

Productivity for the shop is part of your responsibility as a member of the maintenance team. This includes regular maintenance of the vehicles as well as taking care of breakdowns, and regular preventative maintenance. It is vital for each individual to do their part in order for the shop to run smoothly.

Education/Experience

  • Possession of a Valid 310T certificationon
  • 310S with participation in an apprenticeship program will be considered
  • Students currently enrolled in the 310T apprentice program will be considered
  • Detailed knowledge and adherence to safety policies and procedures for working in the shop area
  • Review of WHMIS standards and attending other educational or training sessions as deemed beneficial for promoting a safe working environment will also be expected.
  • As regulations change you may be required to take further training. This will be determined on an “as needed” basis.Additional Requirements
  • Recognizing the challenge of demonstrating good listening skills, while still being able to complete your own duties as required is an accomplishment worth achieving.
  • Demonstrating good communication skills with drivers, operations staff, maintenance staff and suppliers etc. is an integral part of the service provided.
  • It is important for all drivers to feel welcome to report vehicle problems to the shop.

Salary: $19.00 to $30.46 /hour
