Position Overview
Under the administrative supervision of the Divisional Director and Regional Manager, Patient Access and Transition Support, the incumbent is responsible for:

Assisting in the development, planning, and implementation of regional initiatives which improve patient access and decrease length of stay.
Becoming an expert user of the Medworxx Patient Flow Software and Oculys Bed Management applications.
Maintaining a regional approach to education and training in the use of the Medworxx and Oculys Patient Flow Software, including direct training of Site Utilization Managers/Facilitators, Site Program Directors, Regional Program Directors and Regional affiliated users of the system.
Maintains the operations of e-learning modalities.
Maintaining a regional quality monitoring program related to the use of the Medworxx and Oculys Patient Flow Software i.e. audits of data quality.
Participating with Medworxx and Oculys clinical team on version enhancements and assisting with the training of staff as new releases of the software are developed.
Serving as Regional expert on ALC declaration and ALC declaration in the Medworxx Patient Flow software.
Participating in the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of projects and initiatives which relate to access, patient flow, length of stay, and transition support.
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years recent experience working in an acute medical, surgical, or critical care/emergency environment required.
Experience in a clinical education role/capacity preferred.
Experience in an administrative role, particularly with a focus on transition planning, preferred.
Experience in using computerized applications, including Microsoft products and patient flow software, is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Baccalaureate in Nursing is required.
Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or Business Administration is an asset.
Education in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent is preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.

Ability to function in a pivotal role, enhancing the understanding of team members about the transition process.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain effective resource contacts.
Demonstrated ability to interact with project team members, within the scope of a phased project.
Proficiency in concepts related to collaborative practice and inter-professional education and practice.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem-solve.
Must have the ability to work effectively and efficiently with computerized clinical applications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in all Winnipeg Health Region locations (acute/community/long term care) and to arrange own transportation.

Salary commensurate with education and qualifications.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
