We are currently searching for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team of housekeeping professionals. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible to supervise Colleagues, inspect rooms and lead shifts. We anticipate that the majority of shifts will be mid/evening shifts that will be from 1pm – 9:30pm, however flexible availability will be required to cover other shifts/vacations as necessary. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervise and lead shifts and Colleagues including Room Attendants, Housepersons, laundry attendants
Effectively coach, motivate, communicate, recognize, and lead Colleagues on shift
Assign daily room cleaning matrix for Turn Down Room Attendants
Assist with monitoring and maintaining inventory of departmental supplies.
Conduct inspections of housekeeping areas, including turn-down rooms and complete restocks, as required
Maintain effective communication between the housekeeping department and key operational departments including Front Office and Engineering, to ensure we are able to effective lead shifts and resolve issues, as required.
Inspects rooms to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to Housekeeping Management team
Maintains a proper log of Lost and Found Inventory, in accordance with hotel policy and procedure
Conducts PM service (turndown) training, explaining policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment, as required
Communicates the completion of rush rooms and releases room ready for occupancy, to front office team.
Assists the team in performing general cleaning tasks and preparation of guest rooms, as required.
Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action where required
Manage assigned projects, ensuring assignment and completion of tasks with PM team members
Coordinates any service issue resolution with Front Office Management
Reconciles incoming guest laundry invoices /assist and supervise guest laundry delivery
Ensures the daily completion of all in-house laundry tasks ensuring available inventory meets occupancy requirements.
Takes part in meeting and exceeding departmental goals (UV inspections, Forbes Five Star Checks)\
Undertakes other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required
Education & Skill Requirements
Position is physical in nature and requires regular lifting, bending, reaching, stretching, squatting
Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a similar capacity as a Room Inspector or Supervisor is preferred
Previous experience with Opera, Triton, and Microsoft Office software is preferred
Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service
