We are currently looking for a Patient Care Information Coordinator to join the Respiratory Medicine Clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for Respiratory Medicine Clinic administrative duties, the patient scheduling process, and helping to facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to the clinic staff and patients/families. You will also support the operation of the team/unit by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive and organized manner.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

Clinical Support

Responsible for coordination of the patient registration processes. Ensure related documentation is complete and notifies appropriate individuals (of schedule/standard preparation instructions)
Answer phone calls and respond to requests for information from families and health care staff
Responsible for coordinating and booking diagnostic tests, follow up appointments to best meet child/family needs
Ensure related scheduling documentation is processed, organized and available
Ensure that the patient/families and the health care team are informed of related scheduling documentation
Work collaboratively to maintain consistent program delivery, cross training and support/back up
Facilitate communication flow via telephone, paging and computer access
Work with extrnal physicians, health care providers and families to schedule appointments as necessary
Maintain appointment schedules within Epic and notify patients/families, inpatient units of scheduling changes, follow up and cancelled appointments
Relay appropriate patient procedure preparation
Maintain an efficient and tidy work environment
Administrative Support

Work in collaboration with other Patient Information Coordinators to provide administrative support related to patient care activities
Acts as the first point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders
Provide adminsitrative support to the management team
Management and reconcilliation of all supplies/office materials for the department
Maintains files/list of referring physicians and staff pagers
Arrange for specialty purchages from outside suppliers
Assist in planning, organizing and maintaining the environment
Information Resource / Leadership Activities

Acts as a resource to all staff concerning systems, technology, patient adminstrative processes and unit operations
Acts as a resource for staff
Communications changes to administrative/operational procedures to all staff
Identifies issues and needs related to patient flow, adminstrative processes and technologies and takes the initiative to problem-solve independently or with others
Here's What You'll Need

Post secondary administrative/health care diploma
Minimum 3 years clerical and adminsitrative experience in a health care setting
Experience in a hospital environment is preferred
Medical terminology is essential
Previous scheduling experience an asst
Accurate keyboarding skills and solid working knowledge of Wor, Excel, Power Point and Outlook at required
Experience with Epic is an asset
Excellent customore service skills, strong onterpersonal, communciation and organization skills
Demonstrated ability to remain focused on a busy and high stress environment
Dependability and good attendance is essential
