Reporting to the Vice President of Roads and Highways, the Department Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day to day operations of the Transportation Ottawa Field Services department.

Responsibilities:
Manages and leads the transportation Ottawa field services department
Oversees and ensures financial performance of the department
Oversees staff to establish client needs and coordination of work
Demonstrates leadership to motivate and maximize individual performance
Takes overall responsibility for the coordination of the delivery transportation projects with other transportation departments and other corporate business units
Mentors junior and intermediate field staff and develops the department's technical and consulting excellence
Develops the client base and project experience of the department
Liaises with clients and promotes the construction administration capabilities of the department
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills combined with excellent oral written and presentation skills
Commitment to quality service excellence
Manages project financials and project deliverables
Provides excellent customer service to our clients fostering repeat business
Develops new business for the transportation department through business development activities

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of post-registration experience leading planning and design projects
Either registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO or Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
Strong working relationship with clients, both municipal and MTO
Proven management experience in the consulting engineering industry
Strong business acumen
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills combined with excellent oral written and presentation skills
Commitment to quality service excellence
Experience managing project financials and project deliverables
