Job Title: Warehouse Manager Assistant

Department: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Summary Statement:

This position supports the Warehouse by assisting the Manager in coordinating and delegating activities as well as monitoring, storing, and inventory of product. It works alongside Warehouse staff ensuring efficiency and safety. It requires good judgement and adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Warehouse Staff (indirectly)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist CSR/Customer pick up in professional manner
  • Manage temporary worker requests and workflow for shipping & receiving
  • Track and report punctuality and attendance of staff for biweekly payroll
  • Deliver training for new and existing employees
  • Deliver discipline and feedback to employees
  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse staff
  • Monitor workflow in the department and delegate as required
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement in the department
  • Inventory adjustments and cycle counting
  • Occasionally work extra hours as business demands
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Minor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff with general warehouse duties as required:
  • Selection of products using RF Scanner
  • Pack and weigh any orders that require special handling
  • Package finished products for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Ensure no damaged product is sent out
  • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate in quantities and shipping documentation
  • Stage finished product for loading
  • Load finished product onto trucks
  • Unload product from trucks
  • Move products to bin location and put away

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of post-secondary program or combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years lead hand experience
  • Valid forklift, reach, order picker, and MHE certificate
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklift, reach, order picker, MHE, RF scanner
  • Ability to lift 80 – 100 lbs
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, speak)
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent attention to detail for number and codes
  • Working knowledge of a WMS (experience with Accellos is an asset)

  • Concentration and attention to detail
  • Ability to stay focused in distracting work environment

Physical Effort:

  • Combination of standing, walking, and sitting
  • Frequent lifting of materials and product 80 – 100 lbs

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to loud noise level, including forklift operations
  • Machinery operation may require the use of safety equipment including but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gloves, work boots, and aprons
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted

Supervision Details:

  • Assignments delegated by Manager or Senior Management
  • General supervision on day-to-day activities
  • Supervisor is on-site and available for questions and clarification
