Baker Tilly Nova Scotia has one of the most experienced and respected tax practices in Atlantic Canada. To support our growth, we are looking for a Manager, Cross Border Tax to join our team of private company focused specialists.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the Tax Partners and other senior tax staff, to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients
Performing technical research, developing and documenting tax planning recommendations
Reviewing US and Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff
Supporting and mentoring firm staff in respect of tax matters
Identifying client service opportunities

A successful candidate will have:
At least 2-4 years of tax experience in a professional services firm
Canadian CPA designation
Completion of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course would be an asset
Some experience with Canada-US cross border tax matters, and the desire further these skills would be a definite asset
Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
Strong proficiency in client-focused service
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines
Experience with MS office, CaseWare and tax return and research software
A passion for tax work!
