The Assistant Manager is responsible for guiding, coordinating, training and leading the F&B team in all areas of front of house service for all outlets. They assist and oversee all areas of F&B operation and complete administrative duties as assigned. They are responsible for all F&B Manager tasks and administrative duties in their absence.
Description of main responsibilities:
-Verify server cash outs and reads and report results
-Implement up-selling programs and promotions to help increase revenue
-Conduct liquor and beverage inventory control
-Provide regular feedback details of operations to the department heads
-Control wine list and storage in conjunction with the F&B Manager
-Attend daily and weekly meetings
-Verify all areas for cleanliness and report and follow-up on any maintenance issues
-Conduct daily briefing pass-on to F&B management team
-Attend daily BEO meeting and update BEO boards as required
-Review staff schedule on a daily basis and adjust accordingly
-Oversee and assist the team with daily service in Breakfast, Room Service, Banquets functions and Lobby Bar
-Inspect all areas of the department before and after each shift
-Ensure beverage service is in accordance with the Smart Serve Program
-Plan and conduct departmental meetings with the F&B Manager
-Provide regular feedback to staff and management
-Assist in the recruitment, interviewing and on-boarding of new staff members
-Oversee training of new staff using training checklist
-Enforce and adhere to hotel policies, procedures and standards
-Complete quarterly departmental talent reviews as assigned
Requirements of the position:
-Proven ability to plan and organize events effectively, with an acute sense of time management and attention to detail
-Assertive, professional and positive with proven ability to develop and lead in a team environment
-Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, outgoing, friendly, persuasive personality
-Minimum 1 years’ experience in a role with direct personnel supervision
-Good understanding of current licensing and employment laws
-Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations
