Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Agronomist has responsibility for supporting Yara’s sales activities related to the South-Central Ontario territory. The Sales Agronomist will partner with local retail locations, crop consultants and farmers to create demand for Yara’s crop nutrition solutions. The Sales Agronomist will work in close cooperation with the other team members in Eastern Canada to actively promote Yara’s crop nutrition solutions through demonstration trials, field days, trade shows and farmer meetings as well as bring farmer insight into the development of new products and services.

  • Support Regional Mangers on execution of sales
  • Actively promote Yara’s premium and unique fertility programs to retailers and farmers.
  • Focus crops are wheat, corn, potatoes and other vegetable crops.
  • Maintain and populate a CRM database to capture market knowledge and relevance of Yara crop solutions
  • Provide information on foliar and micronutrient trends as far as crops, customers, digital and competitor activity
  • Generate insights of farmer practices, content for digital promotion, engagement within farmers
  • Develop agronomic messages and marketing content that is specific to the region.
  • Frequent travel within the territory requiring a valid driver’s licence


  • Bachelor’s diploma/degree in Agronomy or Ag related field.
  • Excellent agronomy knowledge (potato experience is an asset)
  • Some work experience in similar roles, preferably with exposure to value added fertilizers
  • Experience in speaking and presenting to small or large audiences
  • Home office based in South Central Ontario

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Agronomy or Ag related field.
  • CCA (Certified Crop Adviser) preferred or ability to achieve.
