Main Objectives
To effectively assist the Manager and Assistant Manager in achieving the company objectives, for sales, hours, and profitability, according to company policies. To ensure the image and customer service standards are in accordance with company policies.
Responsibilities
Operations
The Key Holder must have the knowledge to perform the following duties:
 Must be perfectly trained at the POS to perform these transactions:
o Sales
o Refunds
o Returns
o Gift card activations
o Credit and debit card transactions
o Associate sales other than him/herself
 Must see that associates are following the Managements’ 4 Non-Negotiable Standards training and provide feedback to management on its progress.
 Must be fully capable to open and / or close the store and make bank deposit.
 Must assist management in meeting and exceeding sales objectives
 Must help management keep control of budgeted hours without exceeding plan
 Must respect work schedules as they are posted
 Must assist by helping to train associate level applicants who meet the company’s high degree of integrity
 Must keep track of associates’ sales objectives and check if they are set and met on a daily basis.
 Must verify that associates follow the Established Action Plan to maximize sales results and advise management if they are not.
 Must double check the Black Book at least twice per week, to make sure it is up-to-date at all times and available to all associates and DSM when in store
 Must assist in communicating the Sense of urgency that is required to make certain that:
o All markdowns are done according to deadlines established by H.O.
o All red tickets and slashes are done according to deadlines established by H.O.
o All related signage is placed strategically according to instructions from H.O.
 Must assist the manager in his/her Team Spirit Motivational program with the store’s team and carry through with the associates on an ongoing basis.
 Must perform receiving, unpacking tasks, and place merchandise in appropriate locations
 Must always be certain the Sales floor as well as Back-Store and off site storage (if applicable) are neat and organized
 All other tasks or duties as requested by Superiors
Visual and Marketing
 Must assist and ensure that all Visual changes are done according to standards and on time
 Must assist and ensure that all Signage is done according to directives
 Must assist in up-dating Visual Merchandising Standards manual if requested.
 Must assist with staff is training on our Visual Standards
 Study the forms that are used for HR purposes and ensure that they are always completed as per instructions and payroll deadlines. This procedure is normally handled only by Manager and Assistant Manager, but, in the event of both absences occurring at the same time, the Key Holder should at least be aware of the procedure.
 Must assist in training of staff regarding all aspects of their workplace responsibilities, as per Manager’s request
 Must follow Health and Safety regulations established by Provinces and make certain applicable rules and regulations are posted for employees
Policies and Procedures
 Must understand corporate directives, policies and procedures in order to answer associates’ questions should they arise.
Loss Prevention & Security
 Must Help Management ensure that all store personnel know, understand and comply with the policies and procedures concerning Security and Loss Prevention.
