The Red Deer Regional Hospital is seeking Registered Licensed Partial Nurse to join our peri-operative team. We offer a comprehensive peri-operative training program to provide nurses with the skills and knowledge required to work within the operating room. As an OR nurse, you are an integral part of the surgical team, responsible for providing comprehensive peri-operative patient care using the nursing process in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and Canadian Standards Association of practice. You will deliver safe, effective and efficient care in both the scrub and circulating roles. This position requires advanced critical thinking, good judgment, expert problem-solving skills and exceptional communication skills. This role can be physically demanding as you may be required to stand for many hours as well as wear a lead apron for protection. On-call after-hours will be required.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Two years current surgical or critical care or emergency room experience.
