In this function, the employee is required to walk and/or stand and frequent lifting is required up to
approximately 25 kgs. Operating the forklift is essential for this job, therefore paying close attention to
others and to the freight is paramount.

The dock is quite noisy due to the ongoing movement of forklifts and the volume of tractor-trailers that
enter and exit the terminal. The weather conditions consist of cold days during the winter months and
hot days during the summer months due to a non-insulated building and the dock doors being open quite
frequently. The worker needs to be extra cautious when operating the forklift when areas throughout the
dock become congested as additional operators and freight arrive into the terminal.

ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System) orientation for all employees is mandatory.
All new employees will go through an orientation that involves the freight flow, the signing of the bills
and health and safety requirements. As part of the training needs, they will go through a job shadowing
process with an experienced worker for three to four days for purposes of learning the job, the
procedures and the processes. Other requirements for training needs include the review of the job
description and training on the following: Dangerous Goods, Freight Handling, WHMIS, Forklift
and to review and understand the following work instruction: 301.01 How to Unload/Strip Freight.
As a Stripper, the Quality Objective is to ensure that you unload the freight in a timely manner, inspect
the shipment to ensure it conforms to the bills, damage-free, meet requirements for the reweigh and cube
program and that the goods are staged in the correct area so that all requirements of the customer are
