The Model Development (MD) group is part of the Market Risk and Model Development group within Risk Management at TD Bank. It is responsible for methodology development related to Market Risk and Credit Risk for the Retail, Wholesale and Business Banking as well as Operational Risk bank wide. These methodologies cover, but are not limited to, Credit parameters (PD, LGD, UGD), Regulatory & Economic Capital for AIRB Credit Risk, General Allowances, Value at Risk (VaR), and Counterparty Credit Risk.
The position reports to Manager, Non-retail Model Development group.
The U.S. Non-Retail Model Development group is hiring a Senior Quantitative Analytics Analyst to support stress testing and allowance modeling activities for the U.S. non-retail portfolio. Detailed responsibilities include:
Develop Econometric and Statistical models for the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) portfolio to support regulatory projects, i.e. stress testing (CCAR, MST, EWST) and allowance methodologies (IFRS 9, CECL);
Conduct applied research and leverage internal and external data to enhance existent methodologies;
Develop and implement data analyses that optimize statistical efficiency and quality for the US CRE portfolio;
Collaborate with other teams and participate in cross-functional projects as needed;
Perform ad hoc analyses as required by management and other business partners;
Produce and maintain well-articulated documentation on above;
Write and maintain robust code for performing the above functions.
Graduate degree in a quantitative field, such as Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, and Statistics is required. PhDs are preferred;
Programming experience is mandatory: SAS, MATLAB or Python;
Strong interest and ability to undertake applied research and to write technical reports;
Strong interest to find innovative ways, e.g. statistical learning, to build Champion and benchmark models;
Experience in credit modeling space is preferred;
Strong theoretical and numerical background is an asset;
Knowledge of coding standards;
Out-of-the-box thinker and enthusiastic in solving problems;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting;
Strong work ethic and adaptable to changing priorities.
