Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and vet statistical models used in Direct Marketing / mail campaign initiatives, where models are backed by statistical methodologies that include machine learning (e.g. gradient boosting, neural network) and more traditional statistical approaches (e.g. linear/logistic regression, decision trees)
Deliver projects from beginning to end, including understanding the business need, aggregating data, exploring data, building & validating predictive models, and deploying completed models in production
Understand ways to prevent and remove inappropriate bias from models, and establish appropriate sampling approach prior to modeling (e.g. oversampling or undersampling)
Implement sound design of experiment and champion vs. challenger solutions, ensuring models or strategies are comparable when conducting tests, and that test results will be conclusive
Perform regular model monitoring ensuring stability and performance of the models adhere to model governance thresholds, and troubleshoot signs of model deterioration
Perform ad-hoc analytics that support Direct Marketing / mail campaign initiatives
Partner with stakeholders, product owners, and solution architects to create solutions that meet business and technical requirements
Provide technical guidance, proactive support, and data-driven recommendations to management from predictive modeling perspective
Communicate and present key findings to both technical and non-technical internal business stakeholders leveraging visualization tools and techniques
Keep abreast of new statistical and machine learning techniques and tools, and industry best practices to predictive modeling

3+ years work experience in analytics and predictive modeling in a financial services industry, preferably in Risk and/or Marketing Analytics setting
Master’s Degree in quantitative field such as statistics, economics, engineering or mathematics
Proven track record in developing Marketing predictive models such as segmentation and targeting, decision trees, regression, clustering, boosting, etc.
Experience working with very large databases, data mining and/or data warehousing
Strong data science capabilities, with proven experience in manipulating data using tools like SAS, SQL, R or Python, in order to draw valuable insights from large datasets
Expert skill level with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting expectations in a fast-paced environment
Solid organizational skills
