NAC is currently seeking a full time IT Systems Administrator to join our team, based at our head office location in Morriston, Ontario (10 minutes south of Guelph, ON).

Reporting directly to the Manager of Information Technology, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of the corporate networking infrastructure, providing employees with extensive and complete assistance in any issues they may have concerning information system technology. The successful individual will be responsible for timely and effective resolutions to end-user productivity issues, as they relate to IT-serviced computer operations. The individual should be able to communicate easily, technical concerns and solutions to many different people with varying degrees of technical knowledge, as well as work with individuals in all departments to help resolve issues, minimizing downtime.
Resolve end-user IT issues, such as password resets, MS Office, browsers, file/folder shares, PC hardware problems, Internet connectivity, configurations, etc. minimizing downtime to all users.
Provide one-on-one end-user support and problem resolution via telephone, e-mail, remote management and other vehicles of communication.
Prioritize work according to severity.
Always maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness.
Diagnose and resolve network issues for LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
Maintain network servers such as file servers, DNS and VPN gateways
Administer system infrastructure such as servers, laptop and desktop computers and peripherals, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, databases, phones, smartphones via BES, software deployment, security updates and patches
Create projects that are designed to either add functionality required by the company or to address ongoing issues
Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning and troubleshooting network problems
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies, prepare and conduct training programs, providing references and support
Ability to make/run Cat5E/6 cables for connecting network equipment
Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for tasks and exploring opportunities to add value
Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords on workstations by assigning configuration of authentication and authorization of Active Directory services
Specify system requirements and design solutions
Research and make recommendations on infrastructure solutions
CompTIA A+ Certification a definite asset
5+ years experience as a Systems or Network administrator or Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences, Technology degree or relevant experience
Extensive experience with Citrix XenServer and Terminal Services
Experience with databases, servers, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
Specific experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Exchange Server
Experience with Antivirus protection (Symantec Endpoint Protection)
Experience with SonicWALL Firewall (including Internet filtering) appliance is a plus
Experience with iSCSI SANS; Dell EQ knowledge is a plus
Must be able to complete complex projects with minimal to no supervision
Effective problem-solving skills
Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
