The Career Development Centre at KPU is currently accepting applications for an Employer Relations Assistant. This position is full-time (35 hours per week) and based at the Surrey campus, but will also involve travel to other KPU campuses and offsite employer and community events.
The key responsibility of this role will be to conduct labour market and industry research to identify possible employer/KPU partnerships, events, activities and job opportunities, and to serve as a front-line contact for employers with potential new postings or inquiries. The Employer Relations Assistant also organizes and/or assists with employer and community partner events, and provides ongoing administrative support to the Employer Relations Strategist.
The successful candidate is exceptional at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, and will interact with employers and collaborate with KPU staff and faculty to support employer development activities. The individual must demonstrate an ability to accurately research and apply findings to assigned projects. The ability to work in a flexible, self-directed and pro-active manner is essential.
Minimum qualifications include: completion of a post-secondary diploma, preferably in Business Management, Communications or Marketing, and experience with contact management or CRM systems (Symplicity preferred), web page maintenance and social media platforms. Demonstrated understanding of the current BC industry and labour market trends is required.
Must be able to work on multiple campuses, with flexibility for occasional evening work. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
