As a pharmacy assistant (invoicing and scheduling), you will be supporting the pharmacy operations with the invoicing of prescriptions, reviewing the medication coverage, collecting payments, following up on outstanding invoices, and other technical/ administrative tasks. When not focused on invoicing, this role is responsible for screening and interviewing the candidates for Retail Pharmacy and supporting the onboarding process where appropriate. The incumbent will also support the Regional Pharmacy Manager with the scheduling, coverage and vacation requirements of the retail pharmacy.

The successful candidate is expected to communicate in an open, helpful and engaging manner by supporting various office teams to manage the day to day office duties and ad-hoc projects.

The role is located at head office in an office setting and requires availability for flexible work week which includes some weekend coverage.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
  • Produce and modify documents using various word processing programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Detail oriented with ability to track progress and provide updates on deliverables
  • Experience in reviewing and managing invoicing in a health care setting
  • Ability to create and analyze various reports
  • Some experience with scheduling is preferred
  • Some experience with recruitment is preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and problem solve
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred
  • Ability to work proactively as a member of a dynamic team
  • Adaptable and fast learner

Key Requirements

  • 1 year of experience working as a pharmacy assistant
  • Knowledge of different Pharmacare plans and policies, third party insurance, and special authority
  • Experience with Kroll, with a focus in reviewing adjudication results
  • 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work a flexible work week including some weekends
