Are you an individual who is motivated by curiosity, driven for success and excellent customer service? Do you like working in a fun, fast-paced and rapidly growing work environment? CDW Canada is currently looking for a Senior Solutions Architect join their Solutions Architecture team.
The Solutions Architect at CDW is a pre-sales customer focused role where creative thinking, public speaking and broad technical expertise is required. The role of the Solutions Architect is to keep abreast of current state and trends in the changing CDW manufacturer product landscape and use this knowledge to credibly qualify, position and architect IT infrastructure solutions for CDW customers. The Solutions Architect is regionally focused on developing business in a specific geography or vertical, some infrequent travel may be required for training or as a result of a specific customer requirement.

The Solutions Architect is to provide technical ownership for multi-discipline IT infrastructure solutions in a customer environment. As such, the Solutions Architect must have a broad technical base spanning servers, storage, networking, security, cloud and the inter-connectivity between them. The Solutions Architect will engage other subject matter experts within CDW to help with the architecture and implementation between these multi-disciplinary engagements

Core Responsibilities:
Proposal Creation
Public speaking at CDW customer or vendor events
Presentation of solutions to customers
Statement of Work creation
Bill of Material Creation
Ongoing Training and staying abreast of trends in our customers and vendor communities
Strategic thinking and planning with CDW Sales Team
Investigate and experiment with new emerging technologies
Continuous professional development in technology and product knowledge, industry trends, and business processes
Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new and migrating existing applications, software and services in a hybrid-cloud environment
Understand business requirements and be able to translate them into technical requirements
Design solutions for customers using the best mix of vendor-partner products through the creation of SOWs
Collaborate directly with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives and be responsible for all the technical aspects of the sale during the entire sales cycle
Conduct deep-dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering, or already using Cloud service
Follow industry technology trends through self-study and formal training and share that knowledge with current and perspective customers


8-10 years in an IT consulting or senior IT operations role
Deep technical data centre architecture knowledge and experience in storage, compute, networking, and security
Skills and experience with the following technologies is desired: Dell/EMC, HPE, Cisco, NetApp, F5 Networks, VMWare, AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP
Strong communications skills - spoken and written
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
Proven knowledge of software architectures for performance, scalability and high availability – experience developing and deploying software products is a very strong asset.
Proven technical leadership with experience in dealing directly with customers
Must be able to demonstrate both a technical competence and a proven track record of technical accomplishments in the technology field
Must be entrepreneurial, with a demonstrated ability to achieve established goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
