The Continuous Improvement Manager plays a central role in the Software Engineering organization leading the implementation of the operational excellence strategy within the organization. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in leading continuous improvement and lean principles to support the I&T Department goals on Services, Safety & Security, People, Projects and Profit, across all practices of Software Engineering. The Continuous Improvement Manager actively engages the Software Engineering practices to lead change and coach teams to drive improvements. The position would report directly to the Senior Manager Service Management & Optimization and will manage, on a dotted line, a Virtual Team composed of members from all the Software Engineering practices.

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you are responsible for facilitating and lead various CI events. At the same time, you are accountable to ensure adherence to the CI framework and finally you will define, deliver and maintain the CI education and training curriculum.

You also promote Lean – CI Leadership skills and Coaching, Mentoring & Facilitation competencies required. You master how to integrate and work with other teams and understand the direct impact and importance of CI / Lean processes in your enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Align strategies and tactics towards process improvements within the Software Engineering organization.
Work with Practices Managers and the Virtual team to assess and identify improvement opportunities.
Use data to identify gaps in performance versus best practices, and then work with the Virtual team in establishing and executing a strategy for improving them.
Utilize CI / Lean tools, processes and systems.
Work with internal and external teams to drive improvement on Speed, Quality, Productivity and Satisfaction.
Lead and coach CI events through hands-on participation.
Develop and deliver CI education and training.
Be the subject matter expert for the CI / Lean processes and strategies.
Coach and develop the Virtual team members.
Follow-up with Practices Managers to audit improvement progress with them to ensure results are achieved and sustained.
Work with Practices Managers to develop communication and socialization plans, and ensuring consistency of implemented processes and programs throughout the organization.
Document best practices and share improvements to leverage results.
Provide overall support, assistance, direction and communication to the Software Engineering leadership team regarding CI initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS

Lean Six Sigma Certification and/or Qualifications.
Experience implementing lean six sigma, kaizen and continuous improvement initiates.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Continuous Improvement and lean principles.
Understanding of Software development.
Understanding of Agile principles.
Must be hands-on leader with ability to provide positive and constructive feedback, coach/mentor and develop individuals.
Solid analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
Strong team building and facilitation skills
Experience with change management principles and demonstrated ability to drive and manage the change process
Experience motivating and leading cultural change to a Lean environment.
Strong presentation skills
