TECHNICAL MANAGER – BARWICK, ONTARIO
Reporting to the General Manager, the Technical Manager oversees a technical team responsible for product recipes, recipe modification for new products / markets and research and development to ensure product quality and cost effectiveness while working safely at all times. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing product optimization, in addition to reporting data analysis and internal research and development. The successful candidate will also maintain the Mill Quality Assurance program with the APA. Other duties include but are not restricted to; conducting warehouse quality control inspections, providing training to all lab process technicians in SOP’s including validation of procedures, ensuring all technical team members understand and adhere to safety policies, leading new product development, process optimization and preparation of all reports required.
Preference will be given to candidates that possess a post-secondary education, such as a Technical Diploma or a Wood Science Degree, and 3+ years of related OSB technical experience. Excellent computer and math (SPC) skills, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, are essential.
