With the rollout of new technology underway, we have an exciting new full-time role for a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis.

As an experienced professional, you have the ability to help create the big picture while keeping your finger on the pulse of the operations in a busy project and service-based organization. You thrive in helping your organization understand the costs of operations, communicating our financial results to internal and external stakeholders, and coaching employees across the organization to develop their understanding of performance metrics and profitability.

You will be accountable for all aspects of the daily accounting department functions, month-end and year-end close, annual review, budgeting, financial analysis, metrics reporting, and other risk management duties that support a dynamic, growing company. You will manage cashflow and cash planning to support our growth initiatives. You will be the key point of contact for external consultants for IT and ERP systems.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong combination of education and experience-based competencies, including:

  • An Accounting Designation or extensive experience and a university degree in accounting.
  • Experience coaching and managing staff to achieve outcomes aligned with core values and company vision.
  • A minimum of 5 years successfully managing a busy accounting department, including full-cycle accounting, inter-company accounting, and leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in the production of project/costed and billable hourly payroll, preferably in a geographically decentralized organization with cost centres, variable pay rates, commissions and profit-based incentives.
  • Experience providing decision support and risk management, including bonding, holdbacks, progress billing, for commercial construction project / tenders.
  • Strong competence with mid-tier accounting software, preferably an ERP system that included project/job costing, business and data analytics tools such as PowerBI would be considered an asset.
  • The ability to identify, evaluate, and lead financial and operational process improvements.
  • Experience in a comparable HVAC, Plumbing, or related construction industry company would be an asset.
