Full-Time, Program Manager
Temporary (Approx. 12-18 months)
(40 hours/week—Includes on-call rotation)
As a member of the West District leadership team, and under the direction and supervision of the Hamilton/Niagara Area Manager, the Program Manager provides first level management support for service location(s). The Program Manager provides leadership in the context of Christian Horizons’ policies and procedures. This role, through the leadership of others, is responsible for ensuring excellent quality supports as well as ensuring that administrative and district level tasks are completed on time and within budget. This role requires effective coordinating and liaising with families and community service partners, developing and promoting supports and treatments to meet the needs of people supported. The Program Manager will be expected to maintain a flexible schedule that reflects the needs of the location and supports being provided at each location (e.g. nights, evenings, weekends, etc.). The Program Manager requires the ability to work effectively in a changing environment. Requires travel within the region.
DSW Diploma preferred, or a Diploma or Degree in a relevant field, with over three (3+) years of working experience in the Developmental Services field, preferably in a leadership capacity.
Professional business communication skills.
Excellent computer skills (experience with Quadrant Human Resources database is considered an asset) and experience in the area of financial management is required.
Demonstrate a commitment to a Person-Centered philosophy of support and be knowledgeable and experienced in: the application of principles, theories and practices related to behaviour therapy, mental health, and crisis response.
Current First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certifications are required.
Requires access to reliable transportation; a valid Ontario “G” class Driver’s License and a satisfactory 3-year driver’s record.
Police Records Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search is required for employment
Speaking/reading French considered an asset.
