We currently have an opportunity for a:
Finance Manger – Autism Program

Regular, Full-Time – 35 hours

Location: Program office -Markham

Start Date: October 7, 2019

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to Sr. Manager, Financial Planning and Reporting, the Finance Manager is responsible for all financial aspects relating to the Autism Program:

  • Preparation and the development of annual and monthly operational plans
  • Monthly & quarterly financial statement reporting for Management and Ministry
  • Understands fee- for -service accounting reporting requirements & practices
  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly margin analysis by service by customer
  • Understands not-for-profit accounting rules and ministry reporting requirements & practices
  • Analyzes variances, identifying risks and progress versus plans and making corrective action
Recommendations

  • Preparation of monthly cash flow statements to assess cash requirements
  • Plans and analyzes performance against service unit metrics
  • Reviews invoices and authorize payments, accounts payable and receivables for programs
  • Oversees and controls program inventory and authorizes procurement of operating supplies, equipment and services for the program
  • Preparation of grant applications/studies as needed
  • Provides oversight and reporting for program area contracts
  • Service activity reporting with community partner agencies (as required)
  • Provides financial support for other project and initiatives through completion of ad hoc analysis and reports
QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced skills with MS Excel, Office 365, OneNote required and experience with accounting software (Great Plains) would be an asset
Knowledge and understanding of financial controls, not-for-profit accounting and ministry reporting standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with superior analysis and problem-solving skills
Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) preferred
Diploma in accounting/finance required; University degree required.
5-10 years’ supervisory or managerial experience
Holds a valid Ontario driver’s license, and own vehicle required
