About the Team:
The Wave Advisors team partners with small business owners in managing their books and making more time for them to focus on what matters most - their business! The team acts as a trusted advisor to small business owners in managing their finances. Launched in 2018, we are quickly expanding our operations, and we are looking for a web-savvy Business Development Associate to help us uncover the path to Wave’s next successes. That's where you come in!!

About the Role:
Reporting to Director of Business Operations, you will be the first point of contact for small business owners interested in Wave’s Bookkeeping and Accounting Coaching services. You will learn their business needs and help them explore which solutions might be most viable and effective for them, so that Wave can continuously support them in their success. You will be an important piece of a brand new team that’s helping great customers get an even better experience.

Here's how you'll make an impact:
You will drive adoption of our Bookkeeping and Coaching services amongst interested small business owners across Canada and the United States. This is predominantly a phone-based inside sales role, responsible for:
Selling. You own your pipeline of leads and everything about them. Your sales are our growth. You will nurture leads beyond consultation where necessary, keeping the sales funnel prioritized and growing.
Strategizing. You will be an important player in building and improving process/infrastructure for our sales cycle.
Reporting. You have sales targets and conversion rates. You own them and report on them. You find and share other useful tidbits.

These will help you succeed:
At least 1 year of experience in an inside sales role.
Stellar communication skills. An active listener and relationship builder, you're customer-focused and capable of building quick and earnest rapport with prospective clients. You’re able to quickly identify their needs and position the value of our services in a relevant way.
Ambition. You love to learn through taking initiative and achieving outstanding results. You have a positive attitude and a desire to grow and excel in everything you do.
Resourcefulness. You’ll help build something new. You might not have all the answers (that’s ok!) but you know where to look or how to find them, and when to ask for help.
Time Management & Organizational Skills. Punctual and accountable. You’re adept at managing your sales pipeline, and committed to performing consultations and follow ups. You coordinate with your team to ensure the sales and client life-cycles continue to run smoothly.

Nice to have:
Knowledge or familiarity with Wave. Knowing Wave inside-and-out is paramount to building trust and confidence in the business owners you speak with. A crucial part of this role is understanding how our team will use Wave to add value to their business. (Hint: Did you know you can create an account and try out our products for free?)
Working experience with small businesses. You understand that a photographer might be super passionate about photography - that’s why they opened their business; not because they're accounting or finance experts. Working with small businesses and understanding/ anticipating their needs will help you to empathize with prospective clients and close sales.
