Position Title Procurement Middle Office /Front Office Analyst
Location Montreal, QC
Duration 12+ months

Job Description:Business Overview:
North America (NA) Procurement supports all entities within the North America region in the process of buying goods and services that are required to support the operations of BNP Paribas. Consistent with Global and CIB Procurement, the mission of NA Procurement is to effectively manage third parties.

Responsible for acting as the primary interface between technology infrastructure and a specific business functional area (e.g., fixed-income, investment management).
Incumbents identify business unit requirements, create project and process specifications, coordinate with project teams and ensure that projects are on schedule and within budget.
May have a dual reporting relationship to technology and to business functional unit management.
Responsible for the design, development and support of systems within the Risk Management area.
Incumbents work with technologies that support Credit Risk Management, Market Risk Monitoring and Reporting, and Operational Risk.

Responsibilities:
Analyze data, reconcile various data sources to develop required reports on a regular basis to track and monitor various areas of NA Procurement to optimize procure to pay controls;
Analyze spend activity and identifying opportunities to aggregate demand, standardize and minimize costs;
Assist with the implementation, and improvement of systems to NA Procurement activities, including ordering and contract lifecycle management processes;
Assist with the middle office activities for NAR in collaboration with ISPL;
Provide assistance with initiatives related to IG findings;
Assist with the development of procurement practices, including recommendations and implementation of technological and reporting improvements;
Liaise with internal departments on various procurement inquiries;
Execute tactical sourcing exercises;
Issue the Request for Proposals (RFPs), including developing the bid documents, managing the bid process while ensuring fairness and compliance, evaluating proposals and negotiating contracts with suppliers in order to obtain the best contract price and terms to protect the bank;
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while observing quality sourcing controls;
Track all aspects of the sourcing process, from initial business requirements, followed by management validation to final engagement execution;
Enforce BNP Paribas NA Procurement policies and best practices; and
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, economics or applied sciences
5 years’ experience in procurement preferred
Strong communication and analytical skills
Fluent both in French and English, oral and written - preferred
Strong work ethics and ability to work with confidential information
Interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with various teams of professionals and liaise with internal and external groups/ individuals, locally, regionally and globally
Ability to analyze complex situations in a timely and effective manner
Critical thinking to assist in evaluating supplier information
Experience with supply management tools/ software including procurement and project management programs ( Ariba, IQN, TEM, Hiperos, Ivalua) – an asset
Knowledge of standard database management, enterprise resource planning (ERP)
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Visio.
