Clearpoint Health head office is currently receiving applications for the remote role of Payroll & Benefit Specialist.

Essential Responsibilities & Skills:
Prepares all aspects of Salary and Hourly Semi-Monthly payrolls accurately and on time
Ensures compliance with provincial ESA and CRA legislation and other legal requirements
Maintains current and accurate electronic employee records
Preparation of Year End activities including T4s and government assessments and reconciliations
Calculates and submits remittances for WCB/WSIB and BC EHT, and other as needed
Creates and issues specific Business Intelligence reports monthly/quarterly/annually and when requested
Ensures employee benefits are commenced on time and audited regularly
Responds in a timely manner to all payroll related questions and assists with resolution to issues
Calculates manual payments when required
Maintains a strong relationship with the facility leaders, employees and payroll system provider to quickly resolve issues
Initiates communications with leaders and employees to advise of deadline, process changes, requests for information etc.
Identifies potential issues concerning payroll processes, errors, systems and addresses them proactively
Flexibly responds to changing conditions and priorities and meets all deadlines.
Plans and prioritizes a continuous list of tasks according to a hierarchy of importance
Applies careful thought processes to difficult situations that may arise, consults with the appropriate authority and acts decisively in selecting and implementing an appropriate course of action
Ensures that confidential and sensitive data is protected by the security and privacy protocols of the organization

Maintains a professional demeanour and understanding the pressures and priorities that impact employees and other team members

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification and/or equivalent in experience
5 plus years in a senior payroll role or 10 plus years working as a Payroll Specialist/Administrator
Mid-to-advanced knowledge of Excel (vlookup and pivot tables)
Strong mathematical and numeracy skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of governing Employment Standards legislation in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario
Excellent organizational, communication and relationship capabilities
