We are currently recruiting for the position of General Duty Assistant. In this important role, you will be a valued member of our Health and Wellness team. performing a variety of tasks to ensure our residents comfort, safety, health and enjoyment of our their home here at Heritage River. The current opening is for a 20 hour per week 7:00am -11:00am shift.
Key Duties & Qualifications:
- Help and assist residents to achieve their optimal functioning and enjoy and enrich their everyday activities, answer pendant call promptly as required
- Assist residents in completing laundry, dining and housekeeping linens
- Assist with ambulation and portering to meals and activities
- Report promptly to RPN or team leader any resident concerns and take prompt action
- Assist residents in maintaining their suites in a safe and organized manner
- Be a welcoming and supportive caregiver that can quickly earn and sustain the confidence of our residents
- Complete wellness checks in the dining room
- Have an open, caring and empathetic approach in all interactions with residents, their families and your work colleagues
- Have good verbal and written communication English language skills, able to follow instructions and be an active team player
- Ideally, a minimum of 1-year experience in a retirement living or long-term care facility
- Preferred candidates will have their current First Aid and CPR certification
