Join us at Fraser Health as a Manager Clinical Operations role based at Chilliwack General Hospital . This role will support the Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz area as well as the Fraser East Rural communities, which includes 22 Indigenous communities. This position reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations and through the direct leadership and management of people and resources, the manager handles the operational, administrative activities of a clinical operation(s); or, supports the operation of clinical services supports for services as provided through contracted agencies. In particular, this position will support the Chilliwack Primary Care Network and will partner with the Division of Family Practice, local family physicians and work closely with the Primary Care Network Steering Committee.
In this full time position, your responsibilities include:
Lead resources through the development of operating and capital budgets, review of expenses;
Provides leadership of people to develop an environment that is supporting of engagement, innovation, individual and team achievements;
Recruits people, provides leadership and mentorship on individual leadership and development plans;
Provides regular, ongoing, clear and significant feedback to provide recognition and to address performance improvement;
Interprets, applies and ensures operational and service contract plans meet accepted operational and/or contractual requirements;
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships, ongoing communications with medical staff, and other departments at and across sites/community areas;
Assesses and advises on conflicts in terms of operational plans where leading clinical services that report up to more than one Director;
Chairs and/or participates on committees; prepares status reports to update the Director(s) and/or develops recommendations on follow up action to be taken; implements approved recommendations;
Participates in the development, implementation and negotiation of essential service contingency plans.
Here is what we would like you to have:
Completion of an undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field,
Seven (7) years’ recent related experience,
Two (2) years in a leadership role.
We will give preferences to those who have:
Experience in community development and/or primary care
5 years previous collaborative and distributed leadership experience in a health care setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Primary Health Care, Population Health, and Health Promotion and the attributes of a Primary Care Network and Patient Medical Home.
Knowledge or experience with electronic health solutions (i.e. EMR, electronic health records), with demonstrated ability to function in a computerized environment.
Ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management and system change.
Demonstrated ability to develop community-based care teams.
Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
